If you’re wondering whether the Transfagarasan Cultural Tour is suitable for children, the answer is: yes. It involves a two to three hour ride by car, until we reach the Balea Lake. Then, a very easy walk along the lake will recharge your batteries. You can choose to take the lunch at a nearby restaurant if you prefer. Otherwise, you can delight yourself with the different foods and drinks (and souvenirs) from the local vendors. There is also the Balea Cabin, sitting on the shore of the lake, which can serve you delicious foods. The spot is perfect for picture taking. Bring your camera with you and show the world how beautiful Romania can be.
The Transfagarasan Cultural Tour – open only during summertime
Because of the altitude and because of severe weather conditions occuring off-season, the road is only open during summertime. That usually means between the 1st of July and the 19th of October.
